In the center of the flag there is a
sun of may. The flag is twice as long as it is tall.There flag was adopted on February 12, 1812, four years before Argentina
declared independence from Spain (1816). The "Sun of May" design was added to the flag in 1818. The blue represents the sky
and the white represents the clouds. The colors were chosen by Manuel Belgrano. He picked these colors because there
the national colors of Rosario,where the flag was raised for the first time in Febuary 27,1812.
